“I’m looking forward to working with M:X, having sampled their products over the past couple of months it’s fair to say they’ve helped my riding especially on the longer days out. I can ride further faster, reduce the fatigue and having that little extra in the tank means I can recover quicker to do it all again. It’s a great match-up and I can’t wait to use it out on some longer, more ambitious rides.”
Ali is an Englishman who’s been adopted by Scotland. He’s a professional cyclist who has chosen trials riding as his discipline of choice.
“Trials riding is a slightly odd type of cycling where the goal is to traverse a variety of obstacles in the streets or countryside without putting your feet down.”
Ali has competed in a number of trials competitions and was the British Champion, also ranking 3rd in the world. These days his focus is on a more freestyle approach – riding the streets with a few BMX moves thrown in.
“I perform in shows with the Drop And Roll team around the world and started a weekly YouTube series which I’ve been building for the past 4 years. It’s now grown to be one of the biggest cycling-related channels in Scotland.”
“When I’m out riding, be it competing, performing in demos or just enjoying a long day out filming, it’s important to keep hydrated, M:X have created great tasting drinks which really do work and are easy to recommend. I’ll be using M:X from now on and I’m stoked to be riding for an exciting new Scottish Brand!”
Lisa is a HR Advisor for a National Outdoor Centre in Snowdonia. When she’s not sat at her desk, you can find her wandering over mountains, on her mountain bike, Stand Up Paddleboarding, swimming in the sea, wild camping or in her campervan, she’s usually accompanied by her two dogs The Beast and Billy.
“I’m a huge advocate for benefits of getting outside and support Ordnance Survey and The Ramblers with their campaigns to encourage more people to find ways to enjoy the outdoors. My days always start and end on the beach with my dogs, I find it sets me up for my working day and relaxes me at the end of it. I’m a Mountain Leader and love helping groups or individuals who lack the confidence to enjoy the outdoors on their own. It doesn’t have to be a huge challenge or a speed race, it’s about enjoying the day and making memories along the way”
“Going forward, I’d love to do more long-distance hikes and attempt a multi-day canal or sea route on my paddleboard. The dogs go everywhere with me and have taken to paddleboarding really well although Billy spends a lot of his time jumping in the water. The outdoors is where the three of us thrive and being properly hydrated will make all the difference to our future adventures”
“Previously I wouldn’t give much thought to what I drank or ate when I had a long day out. I’d throw a pack of biscuits and a bottle of water in my rucksack and soon be tired and lack energy very early into my day. Older and wiser, I finally realised that there was no way my body had a chance of completing what I asked of it without fuelling it properly (bit like a car!). I love the idea behind the Performance M:X Concentrates, I noticed a huge difference after trying them on a long mountain day and can’t wait for the Dual Hydration System to be launched. I’ve also revamped my food and now take a pack of sandwiches which the dogs usually end up sharing”

“I’m stoked to be a part of Team M:X. Hydration is important for all sports and M:X products are super clean, simple and tasty. Easy portability is another big bonus since most of my races involve big days in the hills where self-sufficiency is a necessity. It‘s exciting to be a part of a growing company and I’m proud to say that they’re based in Scotland too!”

Outside is when Katie is happiest – whether that’s running the trails in the South Downs National park or swimming along Brighton’s ever-changing coast, which is a million miles away from where Katie started her sporting journey. As a junior, Katie competed in the pool and on the Athletics track over sprint distances and has represented Great Britain in both disciplines.
In 2017, Katie took on her first off-road marathon – Beachy Head as she was keen to discover new sporting opportunities. Sarah works for the emergency services but when she’s not charging around the Midlands, she can be found swimming laps of her local lake, running the trails or cycling enthusiastically around the lanes of Warwickshire. Sarah has qualified to race for GB in triathlon 4 times and is looking forward to racing middle-distance triathlon again in 2021 and representing Great Britain in the European Championships.
“I’m not the fastest runner or triathlete but I have a very broad streak of stubbornness which helps me achieve my triathlon and racing goals. A few years ago I was 5 stone overweight and a smoker, but a photograph of me and my friend gave me the shock I needed and I made a drastic change to my diet and nutrition.”
Sarah started running after losing the weight, but needed to implement healthy nutrition changes to support her goals. After running her first marathon, she tried ultra running (completing several 100 mile events) as well as triathlons and has recently got into ultra-cycling.
“I really love the idea behind M:X and it’s great to have a product which is so innovative and also tastes great. It’s a definite plus to have nutrition that you look forward to taking on during an event!”
